About Rabbi Alon

Rabbi Alon Levkovitz (Rabbi Alon) is a compassionate and energetic leader, dedicated to creating an active and vibrant Jewish community. Rabbi Alon grew up in Israel and completed his Israeli military service in the Intelligence Unit. His formal education includes degrees in Political Science from Tel Aviv University and rabbinical ordination through the Hebrew Union College in New York City. Prior to his move to Florida, he served the community of East Hampton, NY where he expanded educational programming, Torah study and Tzedakah projects. At Temple Beth Am, Rabbi Alon continues to invigorate our community through innovative, multigenerational programs including Shabbat on the Beach, mission to Israel, and adult education workshops. Rabbi Alon explains, “While the mitzvah of veahavta (you shall love) can be fulfilled on an individual basis, only a congregation in which clergy, lay leaders, members and the community work together can we carry out this mitzvah in the spirit of the Torah.”
